A week into October and still no details on new termination service
- Tasmanian women still waiting for details of new termination service
- Minister shows complete disregard for women’s health
- Will the Minister commit to delivering on this promise?
Deputy Labor Leader, Michelle O’Byrne, said it was disgraceful that Tasmanian women are still waiting for embattled Health Minister Michael Ferguson to release details of a new termination service.
“The Minister confirmed two months ago that a new provider would begin operating in October, but here we are a week into the month and we are still yet to find out any details,” Ms O’Byrne said.
“Will this actually eventuate in October? Or is this yet another failure from the Minister?
“The Minister’s failure to release these details shows his complete disregard for women’s health and we are calling on him to reveal where the service will be located, how much it will cost, how frequently the service will be provided and how women – particular Northern and regional women – can access it.”
