Making Tasmania the Education State – Labor’s Quality Education Plan

Making Tasmania the Education State

Labor believes Tasmanian students should have access to the highest quality education and training.

We see education as the foundation that allows people to achieve their full potential.

Tasmania’s social and economic development is underpinned by the success of our educational outcomes.

Labor believes that transitioning to further education, training or work needs to be seamless and that the whole community has a role to play in fostering and supporting education.

Labor has listened to families, students and educators and we are committed to delivering a quality education plan to repair the damage done by the Liberal Government.

We are committed to working to secure Tasmania’s fair share of education funding after the cuts by Malcom Turnbull. We note Federal Labor’s commitment to restore the funding lost through Gonski 2.0.

Labor’s quality education plan will be implemented over four years and encompasses four key areas for success.

  1. Restoring Teacher Numbers
  2. Building our education base
  3. Embedding a culture of life long learning
  4. Making education fairer
