Under-pressure Ferguson dumps flawed firearms policy
- Embattled Minister leaves it until Friday afternoon to drop bad policy
- Proof Liberals will say anything to anybody to get elected
- Humbling admission of failure from Minister on the ropes
Labor welcomes the humiliating backflip on firearms policy from embattled Minister Michael Ferguson.
“By dumping his dangerous firearms policy late on a Friday afternoon, Michael Ferguson is admitting failure on yet another poorly drafted and consulted Liberal policy,” Shadow Police Minister Shane Broad said.
“The Liberals will say anything to anybody to get elected – this embarrassing policy blunder proves just that.
“Michael Ferguson has arrogantly pulled the rug out from under the Upper House inquiry into firearms that he supported.
“This is a humbling admission of failure from a Minister on the ropes.”
