I went to TAFE. Having a trade behind me helped set me up for life.
I got an opportunity when I needed it, and I will always fight for others to have that same opportunity.
If elected I will be a genuine voice for the working class. I’ve had various minimum wage jobs, such as being a factory worker, cleaner, storeman and labourer to name a few.
After that I completed an adult apprenticeship and qualified as an Electrician, as well as working in construction for fifteen years.
Today I’m a Union Official and I get to stand up for workers every day.
The Liberals have gutted TAFE. When I see this, I think about the kids who are just leaving school, or those already in the workforce who need to re-skill into another industry.
I believe in backing people in. That’s why I’ve been a foster carer since 2010. That’s why I work every day to represent workers, and that’s why I’m backing Labor’s plan to provide free TAFE courses and to keep public institutions in public hands.
TAFE is not for sale.
I’ll back you in.
